There is also a number of "color births", a sports horse, and horse-drawn hybrids with various phenotypes or other traits, which allow any animal equal to a given genetic trait, whether there is little or no evidence of this trait to be a true breeding factor. Some recording organizations or specialized organizations may recognize horses from many species, so, for the purposes of this article, such animals are referred to as "species" rather than "species".

Types of horses.

In some cultures and in organizations that allow competition, a typical horse is less than 145 inches 14.1 hands when fully grown can be called a "pony". Unless the main breeding register or breeding standard defines a species as a pony, it is listed in this section, whether or not others represent the minority or specific characteristics of the pony.
